Geneva, January 04, 2006 – RSD, a leading provider of report and document management solutions, today releases the new version of its Enterprise Output Solutions software for Web-based access, EOS Thin Client 3.5.2. Dedicated to making business information even more accessible, this version provides dynamic filtering, extensive conversion of report formats and enhanced data mining functionality.
This browser-based tool enables an unlimited number of authorized users to simultaneously retrieve and manipulate business-critical content from one or more EOS repositories. Compliant with the latest J2EE technology, it ensures that the enterprise can deliver indispensable information anytime, anyplace, regardless of where and in what format it is stored.
EOS Thin Client 3.5.2 delivers more sophisticated and powerful functionality through an enhanced user-centric interface. When viewing content, dynamic filters allow users to enter specific values in column headers to filter the displayed information. This new version offers improved search capabilities and speed while continuing to provide users and administrators the flexibility to customize report lists and views.
Technically speaking, rapid Web viewing of reports is ensured by automatically converting printing formats such as AFP, and now Line Mode, to viewing formats such as PDF. Implemented at the administrative level, the process supports all standard format converters in the market place.
Support for data mining has always been a strong point of EOS clients. Accomplished by exporting report content in a ready-to-analyze format to Excel, XML or Text templates, this functionality has been enhanced with new options. Now, for example, it is possible to automatically create an Excel file with several work sheets, one for each set of grouped information and named using the group heading.
As a result of these enhancements, this end user interface makes information rapidly available for knowledgeable decision-making and optimized service to customers. Immediate savings are generated because users can easily manipulates information, eliminating the need for content customization at the IT level and reducing print from 60% to 90%.
EOS Thin Client is compatible with any version of EOS server running on a z/OS, Unix or Windows server platform. The EOS Thin Client application is built on RSD Business Services framework, providing a common interface for all RSD applications. Multiple languages are supported.
