Geneva, Switzerland - June 19, 2003 - RSD announces that Macif, one of the largest personal insurance groups in France and a longtime user of EOS for z/OS, has chosen EOS Thin Client to provide countrywide access to reports processed and distributed by EOS. In addition, Macif selected EOS for Unix to manage the log files produced by its Unix applications.
The EOS Thin Client based on Java servlet technology was selected for its capacity to integrate in the company's J2EE architecture and for its fast and easy deployment to users in the group's 12 regional centers. Another key feature of the product that influenced Macif is its built-in ability to output specified EOS report data in a standard PC application file format. This Transform function will be used to analyze financial and business data within spreadsheets.
In addition, Macif acquired EOS for Unix to securely centralize and archive all log files generated by their applications running under Unix and Windows NT. For this application, EOS Thin Client will be used by the IT administrators to access the log files on-line.
